Have you ever wanted to encourage more student dialogue in your math class but feel trapped by scripted curriculum resources or struggle to come up with ideas of how to do so? This session will share strategies that can be implemented in any middle school classroom to increase student communication and collaboration!

7th/8th Grade Math, Messalonskee Middle School, RSU18

Lindsay Mahoney teaches 7th and 8th grade math at Messalonskee Middle School. She is the 2020 Kennebec County teacher of the year, on the Board of Directors for the Maine Association for Middle Level Education, and the Co-Director of the Kennebec Math League.

Hope Herrick
